THE CASUAL GENTS
THE CASUAL GENTS
THE CASUAL GENTS is a real life fairy story of Greyhound Ownership and totally opitimises everything good about Syndication of a racing greyhound .
Born from an idea posted in a Facebook group for Football Casuals this syndicate bring togethe 'followers'of Brighton & Hove Albion, Derby County, Oxford United, Bristol Rovers, Swindon Town, West HamUnited and Hearts. Only Greyhound Racing could embrace rival supporters from both ends of Britain and encourage them to forge friendships that have blossomed from that day to this.
Each member of THE CASUAL GENTS put just £150 in to purchase a greyhound sourced for them by Trainer Pat Curtin. That greyhound was then called Farley Ace but soon became CASUAL GENT in keeping with his Ownership. Starting in A7 Grade at Monmore Green the dog made his way up the grades to go on and contest the very top grade at the Wolverhampton venue.
The group continues to flourish, and it's members are all very close friends. They have all come together to support each other in charity events and in rememberence of those that have fallen while serving for the Armed Forces. They are 100% united in all that they do and they love what their greyhound and greyhound racing has given them. They also have their own Facebook page which provides them with a platform of communication with each other and the Kennel. They also have regularly 'meets'around Britain.
CASUAL GENT himself had a truly memorable career giving his Syndicate Members many many great nights. His fires at retirement were 19/68 and at his peak he ran A1 Grade. It was his style of running that will be his legacy, a real crowd pleaser often coming from well off the pace to show breathtaking speed and prevail in the shadow of the post!! He lives now with Syndicate Member Robert Thomson in Edindurghj, where he is a real favourite with many fans who want to meet the dog that fueled the racing passion of the city. In Edinburgh THE GENT is a Legend,
The Gents have recently purchased a new Greyhound and named him KEEPING CASUAL (pictured right) and he has started his career at Monmore showing good early pace and winning at the fourth time of asking. He has the scopetomove upthe gradeandgive theGents many memorable nights.
SYNDICATION IS A VERY VIABLE ALTERNATIVE for ownership of a Racing Greyhound and as well as reducing responsibilty and costs it offers the opportunity for any one who partakes to meet new people and forge friendships that can last a lifetime.
Owning a racing greyhound is a thrill all people can experience. Put yourself and your greyhound first.
